Effective Halloween Decorating Ideas

Although we associate Trick or Treating with children, bad weather and concerns for safety means that it happens less and less in this country. However, adults love Halloween too because it allows them to have silly fun and feel a bit like children again. Halloween party ideas for adults can also be scarier and more gory and gruesome than they should be for children.

If you have the option available to you, the best room in which to hold a Halloween party is the basement, not only because it is the darkest room, but also because it is usually barer and so is easier to decorate (and also clean up afterwards!). Another good alternative is an empty garage. Having bare walls makes it easier to take advantage of our Scene Setters which, along with some other party products from our huge range, can really transform your room into a dungeon, lair, haunted house or whatever else you might choose.

When decorating your room, don’t forget any other areas of your home that your guests might pass through. Place a Jack-O-Lantern in your front windows or on your doorstep, and why not put some surprises in the bathroom. If you don’t want to do anything too elaborate with the rest of your house, drape some cobwebs across furniture or pin them in room corners for a simple but effective touch. You could also replace photos hanging in frames with old-fashioned portraits or pictures of famous horror characters from films or legend.
