Just take a leaf out of the book of an enterprising young woman from Iowa, USA and take along a life size cutout of your favourite celebrity to the dance instead. American high school student Rachel Bird realised too late that all her friends were paired up for the upcoming prom, so she took to Twitter in desperation and messaged her favourite American football player Tim Tebow to see if he would accompany her to the dance.
Sadly Tebow, who is regarded as something of a heart-throb in the US and receives thousands of tweets a week, didn’t answer Rachel’s plea. Rather than being downhearted though, the valiant teen decided to opt for the next best thing, so she was accompanied to the prom by a life size cardboard cutout of the sport star.
Though her parents worried at first that Rachel would be subjected to ridicule by her peers for bringing her 2D date to the prom. The reality was quite the opposite though, with Rachel’s “date” proving to be the hit of the night. Her fellow prom goers saw the funny side and lined up to have their photo taken with the cardboard cutout.
What a great idea!
