Are the kids running you ragged these school holidays, overflowing with boundless energy and an apparently unslakable thirst for entertainment? You are most definitely not alone! But worry no more, the clever peeps at Partybox have come up with the perfect solution: get them to whack an animal with a stick…
Now, before you go reporting us to the RSPCA, we are not advocating that your child does harm to a real, live animal. Nope, we’re talking Animal Pinatas. We’re sure by now you’ve come across the Pinata – the traditional Mexican party game where a papier-mache object is filled with sweeties and treats and hung up. Party goers are then blindfolded, handed a stick and encouraged to hit the pinata until the goodies come tumbling out.
You can just imagine how popular this proves with children – actually being actively encouraged to whack something and then being rewarded for it. Sounds like a dream come true! Party pinatas are most often used as a fun diversion at children’s birthday parties here in the UK, though they come in a fabulous range of shapes and styles and are beginning to make an appearance at all kinds of events. We’ve even started to hear of them being used at hen and stag dos, although as you can imagine the treats inside are quite different!
Anyway – if your children are getting a bit fed during these long holidays, why not treat them to a colourful and fun pinata to while away some time. Our delightful Donkey Pinata is the perfect choice with it’s cheery bright stripes, it’s almost too cute to bash (though we’d take bets your little ones will manage to do it anyway!) Don’t forget a blindfold, a Pinata Buster and of course some goodies to stuff the donkey with. As well as sweeties and little toy fillers, you can also go for some healthier options such as little packets of fruit and granola bars.
