Woot! The original and best dysfunctional Texan telly family is back. As well as the return of familiar faces such as J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman), Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) and Sue Ellen (Linda Grey) we viewers are going to be introduced to a new generation of devious and double-crossing oil tycoons.
J.R.’s role as the machiavellian mover and shaker has been taken over by his son, the nattily named J.R. Jr, who appears to be a chip off the old man’s block. Taking up the mantle of the more emotionally and environmentally aware Ewing is Christopher, adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing. And thus the scene is set for a new act of the family saga to burst back onto our screens.
So what do you think to the resurrection of the Ewings? Do you think the series will be successful this time around, or do you subscribe to the “never look back” school of thought? We’ll definitely be tuning in for a wee look at least. After all, who could resist the lure of seeing the once mighty J.R. Ewing reduced to residing in an old folks’ home (we kid you not!).
In addition to the nefarious characters, gripping storylines and howdy doody accents, one of the most iconic images of Dallas is the good ol’ Cowboy Hat.
