A very special lady celebrated a very special birthday in the state of Georgia, USA on Sunday. Besse Cooper of Monroe, Georgia got together with family over the weekend to celebrate the occasion of her 116th birthday. The plucky lady, who puts her longevity down to “minding her own business and not eating junk food” has been recognised by The Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living person in the world since June 2011.
In addition to a fabulous family birthday celebration, Ms Cooper was also recognised by her local community who named a nearby bridge in her honour. Besse herself was unfortunately too frail to travel to the bridge dedication ceremony, but she was represented by her four children at the celebration.
Imagine the size of cake you would need to fit on 116 birthday candles? And how much puff would be needed to blow them all out?! Thankfully we have a neat and elegant solution to celebrating the bigger birthdays without causing a fire hazard. Our nifty number candles ensure that you can represent big number ages with just a couple of cake candles. For example, all you would need for Besse’s cake would be two Star design number 1 candles and a Star design number 6 candle. Simple!
