The Olympics begins in earnest today with tonight’s much anticipated opening ceremony sure to be watched by billions as it is beamed all over the globe. As the next few days tick by we’ll start to see the first sporting heroes take to the podium to receive medals for their successes.
What an amazing moment it must be to stand up in front of all those people and receive recognition for your sporting achievement, knowing that all your friends, family, fans and fellow countrymen are so proud of you.
