Wow what a golden weekend of success for ParalympicsGB Not to be outdone by the achievements of their TeamGB colleagues, Britain’s paralympians are performing fantastically well at the London Games and are now standing in an amazing 2nd place on the medal table.
17 year old swimmer Ellie Simmonds, one of the poster girls for the London 2012 Paralympics, has delighted the home crowds in the Aquatics Centre over the last couple of days by winning not one but 2 gold medals in the pool. The young swimmer from Swansea now also has two shiny new world records to her name in the 200m individual medley and the 400m freestyle.
Ellie isn’t resting on her laurels yet either, as she’ll be back in the pool tonight for the finals of the 50m freestyle where she’s aiming to add another gold to her tally. However she does tonight, Ellie can be sure the whole nation will be behind her willing her on to further victory. What a fantastic athlete!
