If you've got a strong party theme, carry it through to your cake decorations with our extensive range of little character candles. Tradition dictates that on a birthday, the birthday boy or girl has a cake decorated with candles, usually one for each year old they are, for example, 3 candles for a three-year-old. When the cake is set before the birthday boy or girl, he or she is supposed to make a wish (without telling anyone what it is of course) and blow out the candles. If all the candles go out with one breath, it's believed that the wish will come true! Numeral candles make a superb alternative to having a cake ablaze with lots of candles that would be impossible to blow out, especially for those special adult landmark birthdays.
